Idle No More SF Bay
Dr. Melinda Micco (Seminole/Creek/Choctaw) is a founding member of Idle No More SF Bay. She received her doctorate in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. She is an Associate Professor of Ethnic Studies at Mills College. Her research has focused on multiracial identity in American Indian and African American communities, primarily in the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. She is working on an oral history project Seminole Voices in Indian Country. Her latest project is the documentary Killing the 7th Generation: Reproductive Abuses against Indigenous Women shown at the 2010 Bioneers Conference, Native women’s health conference and film and art festivals in the Bay Area.
