Alison Ehara-Brown is a Protector and Defender of Mother Earth. She is of Haudenosaunee heritage — Mohawk (Kanien’kéha) and Seneca — and also of Palatine German and Scottish heritage. She is part of a local grandmother’s/elders prayer circle, one of the founding members of Idle No More SF Bay, a signer of the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty, and one of the core organizers of the Refinery Healing Walks along the refinery corridor between Richmond, California and the Delta. She lives in Richmond, California, in the shadow of the Chevron refinery where she raised her two sons with her husband, Paul Ehara, who is also a climate justice activist with Idle No More and the Healing Walks.
